Making Fauna as a plushie

Creating this absolutely adorable version of Fauna was a lot of fun! I have many favorite villagers from Animal Crossing, and Fauna has always been on that list. So I wanted to make a plushie of her that wasn’t just a figure but a huggable soft toy.

I have been using this chunky yarn lately, after years of using just #4 worsted acrylic yarn. The difference is significant in terms of the process and the finished product. When working with fluffy yarn, you have to be more careful because you can’t see the stitches clearly. I like to use stitch markers to help me mark the beginning of a round because counting the stitches can become confusing. But then, everything is worth it at the end when you get a really soft plushie to hug!

If you want to make your own, you can find the crochet pattern in my shop here.

Fauna’s design is actually a bit more detailed, but I simplified it for this project. That’s why I didn’t add some details to her clothing, and I also changed the shape and proportions a bit.

I plan to make more Animal Crossing villagers in this same style. What do you think? Who should I make next?
